Woza 2010

Happy New Year and all the best to you for 2010... Its the year South Africa has been waiting for... Its the year YOU HAVE to make it happen!

We will try to focus on the positive in this year and hope to bring you the best on the radio show as well as everything else which we do... So keep the radio stationed programmed in your car and in your home/ office, phone and computer...

I know its been a while since I last posted on the blog - The Protect-Ing Santa Action Committee (PISAC) has been on my case re my idea of the 2010 Santa... (see previous blog) - None-the- less, they have agreed that the old man will be going on a diet and will watch his cholesterol levels.

Our good president has acquired another wife - proving that he still have many rounds left in his machine gun. Congrats and could somebody please tell me if Range Rovers have replaced cows for labola?

Today, Jan 4th will see the worlds tallest building being opened... The Burj Dubai is over 800 metres (2,625 ft) tall and has more than 160 stories, the most of any building in the world and has an observation deck on its 124th floor with 360-degree views of the entire city. All this at a cost of, wait for it..... (FORGET THE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS) - at the cost of 12000 underpaid laborers from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and so on... Some of whom have even hid on planes only to return to their homeland...

With the promise of a better life people/ laborers are lured to Dubai only to find that their passports are confiscated and they are forced to work 14 to 18 hours a day. Is this not how the Pyramids were built or for that matter, the Great Wall of China, The Taj Mahal ? I think the word here is Slavery!

With all the money in Saudi Arabia, one would like to think that there can be some sort of resolve which can be made in the middle east!

Well like I mentioned that we will focus on the positive - and its time we looked beyond our usual sphere of things and included a global perspective in our bubble! Having said that -are we doing enough to save the planet? Well there are many things to think about and rest assured we will be talking about it more and more here on the blog...

Expect more demented viewpoints and a two thousand and ten percent increase in sarcasm...

Peace
