Its a sad day, the legendary Michael Joseph Jackson will finally be laid to rest today in Glendale, California’s Great Mausoleum, which is filled with famed golden-era Hollywood entertainers, including Clark Gable, Carole Lombard, Jean Harlow and W.C. Fields.
Question is, with him being a super star himself, does he belong in the stars above or amongst the stars below???
PS: Don't worry I know its been a long time since he passed on, but apparently plastic does not decompose....
PSS: Is it a coincidence that he is buried hours before the start of "Pitr Paksh"?- I can see the Thriller video coming to life here.....
Don't ponder that too much cause there is so much more happening in and around us! Well for starters, Brandon Huntley's paranoia seems to be all that the papers can write about. Certain Canadian authorities claim that Russell Peter's lovechild is somewhere in Durban and there was space/ vacancy for a 'male (adult)' with the mounties...
We will talk more on this tomorrow - feel free to leave your comments.
What I want to talk about today is something which I need your advice on... I was thinking about introducing a sort of reality/ game-show feature to the radio show and I was thinking about hooking people up... hey nothing major - just use the show to hook two people up and get your mind out of the gutter, there will be no hotel rooms booked!!!
So.... what do you say??? Want to think about it and post your comments???? Tell you what, person with the best original creative concept for the show should and will receive a lil something something...
Post your comments below and let me know....
I think if anything, we will have just as much fun hearing the pitches, pick- up lines and responses as well as voting for the couples...
So tomorrow - we will take a look at what transpired during the week and I will share with you my thoughts which I am not allowed to express on radio, right here on the blog...
Peace

Lol....RE: Michael Jackson - U r so mad! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Rakesh…
ReplyDeleteBrilliant idea, I have a few suggestions, which you may consider.
Firstly you could play the game on a seasonal basis or weekly basis where you can emphasize on a specific number of couples and work around them.
You could get participants were colleagues or family members would ask you to hook their friend or relative with a specific person or go totally right out were you get a selection of equal amount of men and woman and interview them (to get to know them) and afterwards let the listeners decide by voting on the blog who should be paired (based on their similarities). Once they are in couples then they can participate in the games and quizzes set up by your team that will test their compatibility, general knowledge (here if the person cannot answer then they can get help from their partner (this will test their teamwork skills). If both cannot answer the various questions that are asked then the listeners can help (the thing that listeners love is participation on the show).
You could even get these couples to raise an amount for charity by competing who can raise the most (this activity can be added to the points given to them or separate it were the couple who raises the most gets a separate prize apart from the main prize and the best part is the underprivileged will benefit (my fav part).
Having rounds or stages in the show were they will get closer to the prize will motivate them especially if it’s a prize worthwhile.
The type of listeners targeted here are obviously the daring, adventurous and competitive ones.
Also having a separate section on your blog for the game would be great and also popularize the blog as more people will want to have their say or simply update themselves on what is happening.
Giving them a chance to pick or vote for their favorite couple would be cool.
Having it on a weekly basis is better where a certain amount of couples (like 4) are selected and throughout the week the game goes on with the quiz and other activities (as mentioned above) and by Friday you play the main game. The whole weeks games will help the couples to get to know each another and the Friday questions should be based on how well they know each another, the couple that is most compatible will WIN.
I think I wrote too much and bored you J but anyways I suppose I took this as one of my activities that I am usually given, because I am studying Radio Broadcasting and they usually give me activities but more serious ones like topics on the parliament.
Well I hope your idea about the reality game show works and it gets really popular, you have picked something that has listener participation and from what I am studying that’s one of the factors that gives you assured success on radio.
ALL THE BEST!!!
Thanks and TTFN:-)
